REPRESENTATIVE PROJECT:
STRATA CENTER
As part of our involvement with the Stata Center at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, RECON collaborated with the Construction Manager with specialized building envelope consulting services. Our team began by reviewing and commenting on design drawings and specifications, ensuring that proposed materials, installation methods, and detailing aligned with established best practices for durability and performance. This proactive approach helped to mitigate potential weaknesses before construction even began, setting the stage for a more efficient and successful project outcome.
During the construction phase, RECON’s responsibilities included oversight of water testing to verify the integrity of critical building envelope components. By closely monitoring testing procedures, we were able to identify and address any issues related to water infiltration as soon as they arose. This forward-thinking strategy not only reduced the likelihood of costly rework but also helped maintain the project’s overall schedule and budgetary goals.
Additionally, RECON provided ongoing construction observation services, documenting our findings in Field Reports that were shared with the Construction Manager. These detailed reports highlighted progress, identified areas requiring corrective action, and offered practical recommendations to ensure adherence to the design intent. Through close coordination and clear communication, we reinforced the project’s commitment to quality, ultimately safeguarding the Stata Center’s building envelope and its long-term performance.
