REPRESENTATIVE PROJECT:

As part of our engagement with the Student Life Center at St. Mark’s School in Southborough, Massachusetts, RECON teamed up with the Construction Manager to provide a specialized and hands-on building envelope consulting services. From the outset, our work involved a comprehensive review of the design drawings and specifications, during which we offered detailed feedback to refine material choices, ensure code compliance, and enhance overall performance. By collaborating closely with the project team early in the process, we helped address potential issues in advance, contributing to a more streamlined construction phase.

Building on this foundation, RECON continued to support the project by helping resolve complex detail conditions and overseeing construction phase water penetration resistance testing. These proactive measures were essential in verifying the envelope’s capacity to withstand moisture intrusion and safeguarding the structure’s long-term integrity. By thoroughly testing critical components and promptly addressing any observed deficiencies, we enabled the Construction Manager and other stakeholders to maintain confidence in the building envelope’s durability and functionality.

Additionally, RECON carried out regular construction observations and documented our findings in Field Reports, offering clear, actionable recommendations when required. These reports provided the Construction Manager with essential insights into the project’s progress, ensuring that any emerging challenges were resolved efficiently and effectively. Through transparent communication and a meticulous approach to quality control, we helped St. Mark’s School achieve a Student Life Center that is both visually appealing and reliably protected from the elements.
