REPRESENTATIVE PROJECT:

As part of our involvement with the Archer Hotel project, RECON’s scope of services was tailored to help ensure the performance and integrity of the building envelope. RECON’s role was to provide the Construction Manager with guidance on the building’s exterior wall and roof assemblies.  By leveraging our specialized knowledge and extensive experience, RECON helped to ensure that critical aspects of the envelope design, installation, and testing were reviewed, executed as required, and well documented.

In this capacity, RECON was responsible for providing detailed commentary and recommendations on the initial design Drawings and Specifications. We reviewed the Drawings to identify potential vulnerabilities, recommend suitable materials, and suggest modifications that help ensure the building’s water penetration resistance.  Additionally, we helped manage and oversee construction phase water testing, helping to ensure it adhered to industry best practices and met required testing standards intended to help provide a functional building envelope.

Throughout the construction observation process, RECON furnished the Construction Manager with Field Reports that outlined key findings, recommended necessary corrective actions, and offered guidance on best practices for installation and maintenance. By maintaining open lines of communication and collaboration with the Construction Manager, RECON not only confirmed that the building’s envelope was constructed as intended, but we also contributed to the Archer Hotel’s long-term performance and durability. This integrated approach ensured that, upon completion, the project would stand as a testament to efficient and effective building envelope solutions.
